This restaurant in Tkalča may not be everyone’s first choice, but it’s packed with tourists. We visited it and found out why.

In a year when Zagreb welcomed a wave of new restaurants, one of the freshest additions to the city’s culinary scene opened at the very top of Tkalčićeva Street. BioMania, already well-known among plant-based food lovers from the island of Brač, opened its Zagreb location in December, choosing not to make any compromises. We visited them back then and were pleasantly surprised by what we tasted — so we decided to return nearly six months later to see if they’ve maintained their standard.
