A chef/shift manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a kitchen. They manage staff, handle issues if they arise, and ensure quality of the food served. The role requires both managerial skills and hands-on experience, making it a dynamic and challenging position.
Your objective: is to prepare food for service (including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces…), to cook menu items in cooperation with other chefs and to ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
You will be relied upon to monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
Responsibilities also include managing and delegating tasks to team members to ensure smooth operations, resolving conflicts and issues that arise during the shift, leading and motivating a team to improve performance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organization and good leadership skills, have clear and effective communication, and the ability to multitask. They should have exceptional time management skills. The ideal candidate will have proven cooking experience, including experience as a chef in a plant-based kitchen. They also need to be skilled in order to maintain HACCP standards and possess a thorough knowledge of all company policies and procedures, manage inventory, and prepare detailed shift reports.
